I slept through New Year’s

+JMJ+ Happy New Year! Which, by the way, I slept through, most of it, anyway, including the fireworks, which, by the way, were at the lake we live, the critters and I, who, by the way, slept through the fireworks, too, after they calmed down, which, by the way, Miss Lucy Dawg did after only a nod from me, saying it’s okay, and which Miss Kitty did only after skedaddling away at the first BOOM and hiding somewhere in the house, which hiding, by the way, ended after a couple of hours when she crept out from said hiding and hopped up onto the arm of my chair, which, by the way, is where she spent the next couple of hours, nodding off and then she got down and slept near, not by, but near, well, near-ish Miss Lucy Dawg.

Whew! That’s one of my longest run-on sentences ever. Not the longest but one of the longest.

I managed to fall asleep after the critters calmed down and I woke up at 12:02. That’s right, right after midnight and the New Year had begun while I snored in my chair. Did not get my New Year graphics made and uploaded, did not get my New Year post written and posted. But I did have a lovely nap. These days when sleep is at a premium, a lovely nap, is, well, lovely. ;)

But enough about me. I want to share the videos below with you.

Video, Star in the Night (1945), short film. Thanks to Deb for the link. This was so good! And we’re Catholic so we know IT’S STILL CHRISTMAS! 😁

I meant to share these videos on January 1st, Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God:

Video, Why Is Mary So Important to Catholics? Biblical Roots of Marian Devotion. “Why is Mary so important to Catholics, and why have so many people been devoted to her over the centuries? Tim Gray welcomes Dr. Brant Pitre to discuss what the Old and New Testaments, the life of Christ, and the early Church fathers reveal about the life and identity of Mary.”

Video, The Kingdom of God and Mary, Brant Pitre. “What is the Kingdom of God and does Mary play a part in that?  Is Mary royalty, and if so, does the Bible say anything about that, in particular the Annunciation with the angel Gabriel and the Visitation with St. Elizabeth? Also, what shadows of God’s kingdom of his chosen people in the Old Testament have to show us about what is taking place with Jesus and Mary in the Gospels?”

Thanks for reading! We’ll pick up the Catholic Christianity/What is Christianity series next Monday. God bless you and may His peace be always with you. +JMJ+

    1. Happy New Year! I was playing a video on YouTube to help keep the critters calm and it worked on me, too. Out like a light! Snored my way through the New Year celebration. Well, except for the loudest fireworks and firecrackers that went off right outside our house, it sounded like. Oy vey! Shook the windows!
