+JMJ+ Welcome to part 8 of the continuing series, Re-Reading the New Age. We’re currently beginning to explore A Course In Miracles (ACIM) from a Catholic perspective. I found some really good articles about the Course from a Catholic perspective. I linked to them in part 7, but I had only read a little of them then. I spent yesterday and today reading and thinking, getting ready to go directly to the text. But I’ll need to pray a few rosaries first. For now I’ll share some quotes from them. It’s important to get this information out there to help as many people as we can to stay away from (or get out of) the ACIM and its false Christ trap, and away from or out of the New Age movement altogether. I was in that trap for years, I know how it is, how easy it is to fall into it, how difficult to get out.

June, the Sacred Heart of Jesus

+JMJ+ June is the month devoted in the Church to the Sacred Heart. I remember hearing the words “Sacred Heart of Jesus” long before I became a Catholic, but I had no idea really what they meant. The devotion to the Sacred Heart used to be a popular practice in the Church.(1) But long before I discovered the Church such things had virtually disappeared. They came to be considered “old fashioned” and were hastily (and foolishly!) discarded. When I looked for a parish that still offered the First Friday devotion, I had to go to a parish a couple of cities away.(2)

+JMJ+ Welcome to part 18 of our weekly series on the soul. This week I’ve stumbled onto the topic of temperaments. I don’t mean that I never heard of them until now, so I suppose I should say I’ve re-stumbled upon the idea, but this time from the perspective of Catholic teaching (which is just about the only perspective in which I have any interest). My laptop is dealing me fits right now so any long post is not going to happen tonight. Instead I’ll link a video from Fr. Chad Ripperger from his Spiritual Theologhy Series: Temperaments. We’ll look at this subject for at least a couple of weeks.
