Books I Want Right Now by Mother Angelica

A brief post tonight. I noticed recently a new Mother Angelica book. Well, two books. One I discovered tonight while watching an episode of EWTN’s Bookmark where Doug Keck talks with Fr. Joseph Mary Wolfe about Mother Angelica’s Way of the Cross, and What is Heaven? (Links at the end of this post.)

EWTN Bookmark for June 16, 2019: Fr. Joseph Mary Wolfe and Doug Keck discuss new books by Mother Angelica in the video below.

From the book description of What is Heaven?

Death, she explains, is not so much a judgement as a revealing light. The mysteries of Scripture open up to us, and we come to see God as He really is. Our virtues become clear for all to see, and we suddenly understand the role we played in the salvation of others.

We have a myriad of questions about the Heavenly Realm: Is Heaven an actual place, or just a state of being? Will we see our family and friends there? Will our joy there be continuous and everlasting, or will it fade? Mother Angelica answers these questions with uncommon intuition.

A place of happiness cannot be a place of idleness, Mother explains, so she reveals the work that is not labor that God will task you with once you’re there in His Kingdom.

Mother Angelica also reveals:

  • What happens to our souls when they separate from our bodies.
  • The three qualities of our resurrected bodies.
  • What Our Lord meant when He said, “There are many rooms in my Father’s House.”
  • The three elements that make up our souls and how they align with faith, hope, and love.
  • How the memory in our souls enables us to remember family.

I know I want a copy of that one. As if I don’t have enough books already. But can one have too many books, really? Even if you can, I want it. :) I want this one, too. From the book description of Mother Angelica’s Way of the Cross:

For the first time, EWTN Publishing has compiled and made available to you the beautiful meditations on the Stations of the Cross, collected and edited by Fr. Joseph Mary Wolfe, longtime chaplain at EWTN.

Each meditation is accompanied by beautiful images of the Stations of the Cross that Mother Angelica prayed before in her home parish in Canton, OH. In was in this church that Mother Angelica approached the altar of our Lord and entrusted her religious vocation to Our Lady.

We invite you to join Mother Angelica in praying the Stations every day so they can become a part of your personal spirituality, just as they were a part of Mother Angelica’s community and of EWTN.

Thanks for reading. Until next time, whoever and wherever you are, may the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His peace be always with you.
