How many first drafts can this (or any) novel have?

2014-Participant-Facebook-ProfileIt’s time for Camp NaNoWriMo once again and once again I’m writing what I’m calling a first draft. On a novel I’ve been trying to write since, let’s see, 2012. In the grand scheme of things that’s really not a very long time. But it seems like forever to someone who’s used to writing poems, songs, and posts on blogs and Twitter. And every time I start over (yes, I know you’re not supposed to start over) I choose “first draft” as the current draft’s status. Crazy, huh? Well, it is what it is and mostly what it is is fun and incredibly entertaining. For me, at least. The writing of it, anyway. We’ll see if anyone else thinks it’s remotely entertaining when I finally get it written. Now that’s optimistic of me, isn’t it? I said “when” and not “if.” How d’ya like that?

Word count goal: 50,000 in thirty days, by the end of April. Word count tonight, the first night of writing: 2,014. Pretty good, huh? :)
