I’m heading to the polls in a few minutes. The voting polls, that is, not the pollster polls. I don’t care how popular an idea or a candidate may or may not be, so I don’t pay much attention to polls. I care how right the idea is and what the candidate stands for. “Truth is truth even if no one believes it, and a lie is still a lie, even if everybody believes it.”* Right is right even if no one wants to hear or do it.
*An Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen quote. (Or paraphrase.) I heard him say this on an episode of his TV show, Life is Worth Living, or in one of his talks I found online. A lot of people quote this and attribute it to some recent author. But it’s Sheen, through and through. (Of course, I don’t know if he might have been quoting somebody too.)
