Nancy Pelosi is an ardent practicing Catholic like I am a Jedi Knight

Updated Dec 6, 2019: Fixed broken links.

If you haven’t heard about Nancy Pelosi asking St. Joseph to intercede to get this outrageous legislation passed, I invite you to watch the video below. Nancy Pelosi is a Catholic like I’m a Jedi Knight. No, I take that back. I’m light-years closer to being a Jedi Knight than she is to being anything like an “ardent practicing Catholic.” Nancy, give it a rest, give me a break, and give a public apology to St. Joseph, Protector and Guardian of the Holy Family, the Patron of the Universal Church, Terror of Demons and Patron of Workers, for daring to mention him as the patron of workers, adding that this bill would benefit the workers of this country (or anyone else!), as if this would convince the foster-father of Jesus Christ to intercede with the Lord on behalf of her unspeakable, thoroughly deplorable and despicable atrociously misleading and misnamed “health care reform” abomination and atrocity.

And she lies in the video about sisters, “leaders of religious orders” from “every religious order you can imagine” asking for this execrable sorry excuse for legislation to pass. Only 55 sisters signed the letter asking for a “yes” vote. And I hope every one of them faces some sort of disciplinary action for it.* In case you’re interested, here’s the response from the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious. And here’s an article from Catholic News Agency about it.

I think you can tell that I have rather strong feelings about this. If you’re Catholic (and even if you’re not Catholic but are open to praying to the Lord this way and asking other Christians to pray with you), please join me in offering this litany in honor of St. Joseph in reparation for this outrage.**

Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.

God, the Father of Heaven,
have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the world,
have mercy on us.
God the Holy Spirit,
have mercy on us.
Holy Trinity, One God,
have mercy on us.

Holy Mary, pray for us
Saint Joseph, pray for us
Renowned offspring of David, pray for us
Light of Patriarchs, pray for us
Spouse of the Mother of God, pray for us
Chaste guardian of the Virgin, pray for us
Foster-father of the Son of God, pray for us

Joseph most chaste, pray for us
Joseph most prudent, pray for us
Joseph most strong, pray for us
Joseph most obedient, pray for us
Joseph most faithful, pray for us
Mirror of patience, pray for us
Lover of poverty, pray for us
Model of artisans, pray for us
Glory of home life, pray for us
Guardian of virgins, pray for us
Pillar of families, pray for us
Solace of the wretched, pray for us
Hope of the sick, pray for us
Patron of the dying, pray for us
Terror of demons, pray for us
Protector of Holy Church, pray for us

Lamb of God, who take away the sins of the world,
Spare us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who take away the sins of the world,
Graciously hear us, O Lord.
Lamb of God, who take away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us.

V. He made him the lord of His house:
R. And ruler of all His substance.

Let us pray:

O God, who in Thine unspeakable providence didst vouchsafe to choose blessed Joseph to be the spouse of Thine own most holy Mother: grant, we beseech Thee, that we may deserve to have him for our intercessor in heaven, whom we reverence as our defender on earth: who livest and reignest world without end.

Amen.

Notes

*The letter from Network claims to represent 59,000 sisters but that’s rather unlikely or even impossible since there aren’t but about 59,000 sisters and nuns in the whole country and one hopes that the majority of them, at least, are faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church of which they claim to be members. Read about the dissidents’ letter. Read the response from the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious.

**Catholics view Saints as fellow members of the family of God who have gone on before us and have entered Heaven and are not dead but fully alive the way we hope to be ourselves one day. They are not dead. They are living before the Throne of God, giving Him praise in the company of the martyrs and all the angels. To ask St. Joseph to intercede with God to help pass legislation that expands abortion and paves the way for euthanasia the way this legislation does is not merely an outrage but is proof that either the Speaker of the House is the worst Catholic I’ve ever heard of or she is certifiably insane.

  1. Bob the Chef

What do you expect, a representative of the Church of Liberalism. Obviously that is more important to her than the Church which is but some kind of convenient identification. It’s time to separate the chaff from the grain instead of diluting the Church with her ilk. I can’t figure out why she’s not under interdict or hasn’t been excommunicated along with others in her position. People in a much less terrible position has been under one in the past. Maybe it’s the limp-wristedness of Vatican Screw.

    1. Hi, Bob. Yeah, the liberals in the Church are disgraceful. Literally. But I can’t agree that it’s time for us to separate the wheat from the chaff. It’s not even our job to do but the Lord’s instead at the time of the harvest. As for the Second Vatican Council reference, I’m a faithful Catholic and I am faithful to Vatican II as well as Chalcedon, Nicaea, and so on, right down the line. Those who misinterpret and misrepresent the teachings of any of the councils do the Church a grave disservice.

Thank you for reading and commenting, Bob. I hope you’ll keep the Church and our country in your prayers. Peace be with you!

    1. Thank you, Betty! I can’t believe the audacity of the idiot Pelosi. Audacity is not really the word for it, but this is a family blog, don’t you know. Argh! Lord, have mercy and saints preserve us! Argh argh argh!!!
