The Manhattan Declaration, A Call of Christian Conscience

The Manhattan Declaration

I just signed a very important and historic document. I hope you will read on and that you will add your name, whether you are Christian or not, to the growing list of Evangelical, Orthodox and Catholic Christians and other citizens who are uniting “to protect the intrinsic dignity of the human person and to stand for the common good.” In signing this document, I consider myself to be in excellent company. Here is the Manhattan Declaration: A Call of Christian Conscience, with the original signers listed at the end it.

Christians, when they have lived up to the highest ideals of their faith, have defended the weak and vulnerable and worked tirelessly to protect and strengthen vital institutions of civil society, beginning with the family.

We are Orthodox, Catholic, and evangelical Christians who have united at this hour to reaffirm fundamental truths about justice and the common good, and to call upon our fellow citizens, believers and non-believers alike, to join us in defending them. These truths are:

1. the sanctity of human life
2. the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife
3. the rights of conscience and religious liberty.

Read more about the Manhattan Declaration. Sign the Declaration. Download it (PDF). See the Declaration with original signers listed. Put a link to the Manhattan Declaration on your own blog or site. Stand up and speak out for Life!

Thank you! Peace be with you.

Disciple :)
