I was watching my favorite network last night when what to my wondering eye should appear but a notice that there will be a Solemn High Mass in the Extraordinary Form at the Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville AL this coming Saturday, August 22 2009, which is also the Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Mass will be televised, so it’s an early one, 7am CDT. Argh. More info at EWTN’s Facebook page or at Una Voce Northern Alabama on their calendar page. I am so excited! I attended my first SLM/EF this past Saturday, which Mass celebrated the Assumption of our Blessed Mother. And I cannot praise this form of liturgy too highly. What beauty and power!
I’m currently writing up my experience of the SLM/EF and the workshop I attended (see earlier post), complete with graphics I made last night, based on the diagrams that Fr. Justin Nolan, FSSP, drew on the whiteboard. I hope to have it written and uploaded in the next few days. Tentative title: The Economy of Salvation, or, how does this Catholicism stuff work anyway? Got my work cut out for me, huh? ;)
